Position Description
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled AV Systems Engineer to oversee the use, operation, movement, and storage of all audio-visual (AV) equipment across our facilities. In this role, you will provide day-to-day technical support for meetings and events, ensure all AV systems are operational, and assist customers with the use and troubleshooting of conference room technology. You will also contribute to the design, configuration, and maintenance of AV and collaboration systems infrastructure to support a seamless end-user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
AV Operations & Support
Conduct daily conference room checks to verify all AV equipment is online, functioning, and fully charged
Provide hands-on technical support for meetings, including video conferencing, audio, WebEx, room and laptop connectivity
Support customers during meetings by facilitating video teleconferencing, presenting laptop or room computer content, and managing virtual meeting platforms
Troubleshoot and resolve AV-related issues in a timely and efficient manner
Log customer support transactions and resolutions in ServiceNow
Systems Engineering & Architecture
Design and define AV and IT systems architecture for new or existing environments
Coordinate system development including design, integration, security, and formal testing
Develop advanced engineering solutions to highly complex problems across AV, network, and collaboration systems
Install, configure, test, and maintain AV hardware and software, including system management tools
Perform advanced systems modeling, simulation, and analysis related to AV environments
Process & Documentation
Prepare and maintain documentation for standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and engineering workflows
Monitor technology trends, recommend new AV and collaboration technologies, and support process improvement initiatives
Ensure system reliability and security, including support for backup and redundancy planning
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and supporting AV systems and conferencing technologies
Experience supporting telephony, video, and network-based collaboration devices
Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in tools like ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
Desired Skills:
Minimum of four years’ experience with modern AV technologies
Experience with Cisco collaboration tools including Telepresence endpoints, WebEx, Cisco CMS, and Cisco Jabber
Familiarity with enterprise AV infrastructure, including video switching, digital signage, and integrated control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron)
Working knowledge of network fundamentals and systems integration in secure environments
